The Russian Cultural Center in Beirut announced the launch of the first session of the “Time of Heroes” documentary film festival, organized by the TV channelRT Doc, shared by An elite group of filmmakers and film experts from Lebanon and Russia.
The press conference paves the way for the main presentations on November 7 and 8, as “this event confirms the depth of cultural and media cooperation between the two countries, and sheds light through documentaries on human stories,” according to a report by “Russia Today.”
The festival aims to enhance cultural dialogue and build bridges of understanding between peoples through the language of world cinema. It also includes a series of specialized workshops presented by international experts to develop the skills of documentary filmmakers in the region.
The conference opened with a speech by the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, in which he stated: “Over two decades, the agency has become a reliable source of accurate information, and a leading global media brand that actively contributes to promoting cultural dialogue and information exchange in the Middle East, as “Russia Sevodnya” has become one of the most prominent Arabic-speaking agencies, providing professional coverage to millions of followers.”
He continued: “Lebanon has a special place in this field, thanks to its free and vibrant media environment.”
In turn, the director of the festival, Ekaterina Yakovleva, said, “Documentary film is considered one of the most important types of cinema. The Time of Heroes festival is not just film screenings, but rather a platform for presenting real stories.”
