Omar N. Arrested: Chivas Legend & Abuse Allegations

Omar Bravo, top historical scorer of the traditional Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara, was arrested For positions of child sexual abuse, the State Prosecutor’s Office of Jalisco reported on Saturday.

Bravo, who consecrated himself as one of the idols of the Mexican popular team between 2001 and 2015, was arrested in a police operation implementing in the municipality of Zapopan, a suburb of the city of Guadalajara, the state capital.

The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office reported that it has evidence that the former soccer player “would have abused a teenager on different occasions in recent months,” and presumes that “he would have previously committed similar actions,” he explained in a statement.

The crime that is imputed to Bravo is aggravated child sexual abuse and in the next few hours it will be made available to the court that ordered his arrest, added the Prosecutor’s Office.

The order to stop the athlete was issued after a complaint of the aggravated part, the agency detailed, which continues with the investigations to clarify the case.

Bravo was born in the Mexican state of Sinaloa and debuted in 2001 in Chivas, a team with which he won the 2006 Opening League Tournament; The following year he obtained the goal title with 11 scores.
