CDU and CSU are considering an Instagram and TikTok ban up to 16 years. “What we discuss intensely in the Union is the question of additional rules for youth protection. One option would be an age limit for social media at 16 years,” said faction leader Jens Spahn in an interview with the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ).
“Brain researchers say that Instagram and Tikkok also address the reward system in the brain about the same way as heroin,” Spahn explained the considerations in the party.
