by Archynetys Health Desk

The Axian Foundation, alongside the Ministry of Public Health, yesterday inaugurated a new pediatric building within the Mother-Child University Hospital Center (CHUME) of Ambohimiandra.

It is an infrastructure that is part of the Foundation’s “Miahy Jovenna” program, dedicated to improving access to care for vulnerable populations, particularly mothers and children. This infrastructure, including two rooms for patients and a room for medical staff, will allow on average the care of around 60 patients per month, according to the director of this hospital, Dr Lova Ravelomanana. He also noted that this new building comes at the right time with the increase in cases of bronchiolitis, measles and diarrheal diseases at this time of year.

Quality. For its part, the CHUME took charge of the supply and installation of the medical equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the infrastructure, as well as the organization of care and examinations. This partnership is therefore based on a complementary approach: strengthening infrastructure while consolidating medical capacities, in order to sustainably improve the quality of care.
