Tajani, Italy reiterated its commitment to de-escalation in Iran at the G7
At the G7 ministerial meeting in Paris “we reiterated our commitment to de-escalation and the restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz”: the Italian Foreign Minister reported this on Antonio Tajanthe. “Italy wants to put an end to the crisis in the Middle East, a war which, in addition to destabilizing the entire region, has serious repercussions on our economy”, underlined the head of the Farnesina, “this is why we are at the forefront of the Aspides mission in the Red Sea and in Atalanta in the Indian Ocean“.
«We will contribute with every effort to guarantee safe passage through the Strait to protect our trade routes», assured Tajani. «On the European front», added the Foreign Minister, we will work together for the reconstruction of Ukraine, to repair the Chernobyl power plant and to strengthen our support for Kiev in all sectors”. «Lastly», he concluded, «we have relaunched the G7 action on critical minerals, maritime security, the fight against drug trafficking and to make the humanitarian aid machine more efficient.
