Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev has publicly condemned what he describes as a intentional misrepresentation of public opinion.In a statement posted to his Facebook profile, Terziev alleged that footage from a recent rally in support of his governance was deceptively presented as a protest against the euro.
“Today we have witnessed an extremely rude lie – footage from the protest of people a few weeks ago in my support were presented as a protest against the euro today.This is not just a manipulation, but another example of how reality is replaced before our eyes,” wrote Mayor Terziev.
He further asserted that such tactics are part of a broader effort to undermine public trust.”With the falsification of the truth, we have been confronted since the beginning of the term – and even before that, during the campaign.These are not coincidences, but purposeful attempts to replace confidence. The protest in question, titled “Let’s Keep the Bulgarian Lev,” was organized on Saturday by the vazrajdane Party.Key figures in attendance included party leader Kostadin Kostadinov, as well as MPs Tsoncho Ganev and Petar Petrov. MP Ivaylo Chorbov, who was previously arrested at an earlier protest and is currently facing an immunity request from Attorney general borislav Sarafov, was also present.
