Triumphant Triumph: Tripura Resolves Decades-Old Insurgency
Agartala, Jan 26 – On the occasion of Republic Day, Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu took to the stage at the Assam Rifles ground to celebrate the state’s monumental achievements. A significant milestone was the resolution of long-standing insurgency issues in Tripura, a feat accomplished with the historic signing of a Memorandum of Settlement with key insurgent groups.
End of Insurgency
Governor Nallu emphasized the successful resolution of decades-old conflicts on September 5, 2023, when the Union and Tripura governments signed a Memorandum of Settlement with the National Liberation Front of Tripura and the All-Tripura Tiger Force. These groups have now been disbanded, paving the way for peace and stability in the region.
Tripartite Agreement
Further strengthening peace efforts, a historic tripartite agreement was signed on March 2, 2024, between the Government of India, the Tripura government, and the Tipra Motha Party. This agreement marks a significant stride towards fostering unity and development in Tripura.
Agricultural Advancements
Under the National Mission for Edible Oils, 1,878 hectares of land have been brought under oil palm cultivation, directly benefiting 1,861 farmers. This initiative not only boosts economic prosperity but also ensures ecological sustainability.
Educational Initiatives
The state government has added 27 schools to the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India program, a bold move aimed at enhancing educational opportunities. Infrastructure development remains a top priority, with multiple projects underway to better serve the state’s residents.
Infrastructure Improvements
The Union government has allocated Rs 2,800 crore for key road projects in Tripura. This includes the Agartala Eastern Bypass and the Amtali to Tripura Sundari Temple route, greatly improving connectivity across the state.
Recognition and Progress
Tripura’s government secured seven awards under the National Panchayat Awards-2024, a testament to the dedication and implementation of effective governance. The state plans to establish 111 model villages under the Chief Minister Model Village Scheme, further enhancing rural development.
Power and Development
Tripura is implementing the North Eastern Regional Power System Improvement Project, a World Bank-funded initiative worth Rs 1,800 crore. This investment aims to develop a robust power transmission network, ensuring reliable energy supply.
Tourism Revival
To attract more tourists, the state government has inaugurated numerous projects aimed at enhancing Tourist infrastructure and creating more attractive destinations.
Law and Order
Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu praised the state government’s efforts in improving the law and order situation in Tripura. This includes the initiation of recruitment for 916 constables and 218 sub-inspectors, as well as the enlistment of 6,067 Special Executives in the Police Department, providing employment opportunities and bolstering security.

The Governor reaffirmed the commitment to making Tripura a drug-free and clean state, emphasizing the importance of public health and safety.
