Six Injured in lisbon Ferry Accident

Six individuals sustained injuries on Monday in a river mishap involving a Transtejo ferry, according to security force sources who spoke to Lusa.

Authorities were alerted to the incident at 17:30 local time. A cable at the Sodré Cais in lisbon snapped and struck the vessel, causing a window to break, according to a representative from the National Maritime Authority (AMN).

Paulo Surgy, Deputy Commander of Cacilha Volunteer Firefighters, reported to lusa that they assisted casualties aboard the Seixalense Vessel of Transtejo at the Cacilhas Pier, located in Almada municipality, Setúbal district.

Initially, five people were reported injured, but a sixth victim was later identified.

Medical personnel treated three individuals at the scene, while the other three were transported to Garcia de Horta Hospital in Almada for further care, officials stated.

Paulo Surgy noted that one person suffered injuries from shattered glass.
