Spotify Clones Steal Data: Latin America Cyberattack

USA:- The cybersecurity company ESET warned about a type of fraud detected in Latin America in which cybercriminals violate the websites of small and medium-sized companies to host fake pages that imitate Spotify and steal credentials and financial data.

According to the research, attackers exploit flaws such as outdated systems or weak passwords, upload malicious files and create almost identical copies of the platform within real domains, increasing the trust of victims. They then distribute the links through phishing emails, social media, or deceptive ads.

ESET documented cases in Chile and Argentina and warned that this scheme generates a “double impact”: it affects both the users who provide their information and the companies whose sites are compromised.

The firm recommended always verifying the full domain before entering personal data, being wary of suspicious links and activating two-factor authentication.
