Winning students are taking a commemorative photo at the Pohang Elementary School Dream Gymnastics Competition award ceremony.
The Pohang Office of Education held the ‘2025 Education Award Pohang City Elementary School Dream Tree Gymnastics Competition’ at the gymnastics center of Pohang Jecheol Middle School on November 19.
This competition has been held every year since 2014 to expand the base of gymnastics and discover promising athletes. This year, 136 students in grades 1 to 3 from 12 schools in the district participated and displayed their skills.
As a result of the team competition, Pohang Yangdeok Elementary School took first place in the southern elementary division, followed by Idong Elementary School and Chogok Elementary School. In the girls’ elementary school division, Idong Elementary School ranked first, and Pohang Yangdeok Elementary School and Chogok Elementary School ranked second and third, respectively.
In the individual competition, Kim Seung-han (Gokgang Elementary School) in the 1st grade boys’ division, Hyeongjun Park (Pohang Yangdeok Elementary School) in the 2nd grade division, and Hajun Lim (Pohang Yangdeok Elementary School) in the 3rd grade division won. In the women’s individual competition, Nam Nam-rin (Chogok Elementary School) in the first-year division, Da-jeong Kim (Pohang Yangdeok Elementary School) in the second-year division, and Yuha Park (Haemaji Elementary) in the third-year division each took first place.
Superintendent Choi Han-yong said, “I am deeply grateful to the Chairman of the POSCO Education Foundation and all the officials who worked hard to prepare for the competition. I hope that the students who participated today will be able to develop a healthy body and mind through gymnastics, and we will continue to expand opportunities for aspiring elementary school students in Pohang to showcase their talents.”
