NMSU vs UNM Football: How to Watch on Altitude Sports

by Archynetys News Desk

Both New Mexico State and New Mexico are gearing up for the 115th edition of the Rio Grande Rivalry this week, set to start at 2 p.m. on Sept. 27 in Albuquerque.

The Lobos have a 74-35-5 all-time advantage over the Aggies and won last season’s game 50-40 in Las Cruces. The rivalry has been even in recent years, with NM State and UNM splitting the last eight matchups against each other.

This season’s Rio Grande Rivalry will be broadcast on Altitude Sports as part of a deal between the network and UNM to broadcast four of its home games this season. This Saturday’s game is the second of the agreement that also included the Lobos’ game against Idaho State and future Mountain West Conference games against Utah State and Colorado State.

Altitude Sports is a regional sports network that is shown in Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wyoming. Saturday’s game will also stream for free on the Mountain West Network.

Here’s how you can watch the upcoming contest between New Mexico’s fierce collegiate rivals:

Comcast Cable, which does business under the Xfinity brand, is the only cable television service that carries Altitude Sports in Las Cruces’s standard zip codes. Altitude Sports is channel 1250 on Xfinity and Altitude 2 is showing on channels 291 and 1251, with the latter being an HD version.

The game is also available on Altitude Sports’ streaming service: Altitude+. The service can be purchased for either $19.95 a month or $199.99 a year.

Aggies fans in the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe areas can also access Altitude Sports through either DirecTV’s channel 681 or on fuboTV. Those with the 87101 zip code in Albuquerque cannot watch Altitude Sports on Xfinity.

NM State fans in other southern New Mexico cities like Alamogordo, Artesia and Roswell can only access Altitude Sports and the game on the Altitude+ streaming service. For other locations, fans can search their zip code on Altitude Sports’ website.

The Mountain West Network will also stream the game for free on places like GoLobos.com, TheMW.com and the MW App. The app is available on iOS and Android devices as well as many over-the-top streaming services like AppleTV, Roku and the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
