Mumford & Sons have teamed up with Hozier for an upbeat new single, “Rubber Band Man” – check it out below.

The song, which was produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner at Long Pond Studios in New York, sees frontman Marcus Mumford trading vocals with Hozier throughout.

This comes seven months after the release of their first album in seven years, “RUSHMERE.”

Hozier’s involvement in the song stems from his friendship with the band dating back to 2017 when he joined Mumford & Sons on stage to cover The Beatles’ “A Little Help From My Friends” at the Longitude Festival in 2017.

He also partnered with them at the Austin City Limits Festival in Texas in 2023.

Mumford & Sons recently held two acoustic pop-up shows in London, headlined Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool and played intimate club dates across the UK, Europe, Australia and North America.

Most recently, they were joined by Noah Kahan and Maggie Rogers for their 2025 “Railroad Revival Tour” in the United States – a revamp of their 2011 American Railroad Tour, which saw all participating artists travel together by train alongside an “all-star house band” featuring Nathaniel Rateliff, Lucius, Trombone Shorty, Madison Cunningham and Leif Vollebekk.

In 2023, Rogers and Marcus Mumford covered Taylor Swift’s song “Cowboy Like Me” together at a festival in Canada. The American singer had already joined the band on stage in Birmingham after opening for the group earlier in the evening.

Kahan performed live with Mumford & Sons at Austin City Limits 2023 in Texas. Meanwhile, Mt. Joy recently recalled spending time with the band’s Ben Lovett and a pre-stardom Kahan during an interview with ZikNation.

Of the recent tour, frontman Marcus Mumford said: “We felt we had unfinished business on the great American railroad. So we spent a lot of time concocting this idea for another festival rolling across the South and East of the United States, picking up exactly where we left off in New Orleans and ending in Vermont.

“The spirit of what we do, at its core, is always about people and collaboration. So each show will be a collaborative performance from a group of our favorite people on the planet, and each show will be different. This will, without a doubt, be the coolest house band we’ll ever play in..»

Mumford & Sons will return to Europe before returning to the UK next month. This latest tour should conclude with two concerts at the O2 in London in December. Find remaining tickets here.
