Heres What The Android 15 Update Will Bring…

heres what the Android 15 update will bring to our smartphones

“The operating systems of our smartphones are so advanced that for the last few years, new versions of Android have been limited to fairly minor improvements in the quality of use. Android 15 won’t be a big revolution either. The update will make it safer to listen to audio recordings, silence annoying application notifications, and help pay for purchases in the store more smoothly on the phone. The biggest innovations of the operating system should be the ability to send SMS messages via satellite connection and charge various smart accessories using the NFC communication module,” says Telia’s smart devices expert Marijonas Baltušis.

Communication via satellite

For the second year, the iPhone has allowed its owners to contact emergency services using satellite communication, and Apple has already managed to share more than one story of how this feature was able to save people in the epicenter of natural disasters or in trouble.

Android smartphones have not been able to boast of such capabilities until now, but Android 15 will finally offer a full-fledged alternative to it. Unlike the iPhone, the devices based on the world’s most popular operating system will not make calls, but send SMS messages via satellites covering every patch of Earth.

meteorites disappear with climate change

When we think of Antarctica and climate change, we first think of melting ice and rising sea levels. However, this polar region is not only home to penguins, but also entire fields of meteorites. If the ice melts, the space stones will literally sink below the surface and therefore disappear from our sight and reach. How can we estimate the extent of this phenomenon? Depending on the scenario considered, a new study reveals that between 25 and 75% of meteorites are expected to disappear and this process has already begun. Explanations with Harry Zekollari, climatologist, associate professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and co-author of this study published in Nature Climate Change.

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Astronomers predict that this year there will be an explosion of a star system or Nova in the Milky Way galaxy which can be seen directly in the sky.

The upcoming nova comes from the T Coronae Borealis star system which occurs approximately once every 80 years. Nova occurs when a small star suddenly shines brightly for a short time.

“Seeing star explosions is much rarer than a solar eclipse,” said NASA astronomer Bill Cooke, quoted by CNBC Indonesia from NPR, Tuesday (23/4/2024).

“So this is like a once in a lifetime event,” he added briefly.

Located about 3,000 light years from Earth, T Coronae Borealis is a binary star system containing a white dwarf and a red ‘giant’.

As the red giant heats up and its pressure increases, it begins to spew out material collected by the white dwarf. Meanwhile, smaller stars, roughly the size of Earth, are overloaded with matter, causing explosions.

“Eventually it accumulates so much matter that thermonuclear reactions begin and the star becomes hundreds of times brighter.

Rubiks Cube, 50 years of the most colorful puzzle ever

by Tiziano Toniutti

The “Magic Cube” or rather the Rubik’s Cube, invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik as a teaching tool for architecture students, turns 50. And yet it quickly transformed into a global entertainment phenomenon and then became a cult object of the 1980s. Initially Rubik did not imagine he had created a puzzle, as he recounts in his autobiography “The Cube and I”. It took him a month to solve it the first time, feeling he had “discovered” it rather than invented it. Under the Spin Master brand, the cube still exists today in several versions including one faithful to the vintage object. During the 1980s, the Rubik’s Cube gained worldwide popularity, becoming the most popular game in the world, with half a billion pieces sold. Coverage in magazines like Scientific American and bestsellers like “Simple solution to Rubik’s Cube” further cemented his fame, culminating in the birth of speedcubing competitions. These races are now annual international events, with athletes such as Max Park, who holds the world record. In the 1990s, the cube also influenced pop culture, art, film and TV, appearing in series such as “The Simpsons.” Also influencing art with “Rubikcubism”,

Finally! iPadOS 18: The Long-Awaited Calculator App Edition

Apple Rumored to Introduce Calculator App in iPadOS⁤ 18

Last year, Apple made waves by allowing users to set multiple timers simultaneously in the Clock app across its platforms. Craig Federighi, in‌ a deadpan manner during the official presentation, humorously highlighted the significance of this seemingly simple feature.

Reports from MacRumors suggest that the upcoming iPadOS 18 ‍might finally see the long-awaited debut of Apple’s Calculator ⁢app on the iPad.

Interestingly, the Calculator app, which was part of the original iPhone lineup in 2007, has been conspicuously absent from the iPad since its launch in 2010. While ⁢other apps like Stocks,‍ Clock, Voice Memos, and Weather have gradually made their way to the iPad, ‌Calculator ⁤remained elusive until now.

Although the iPad already has third-party calculator apps like PCalc and Numerical², ⁢Apple’s decision to exclude its own Calculator app⁣ has been ⁣a mystery. The new app is expected to offer⁤ more than ‌just basic functionality, with features like a⁤ history⁣ tape for past⁢ calculations and a redesigned interface.

Developers, such as James Thomson of PCalc,‌ have shown resilience in ‌the face of potential competition from Apple’s native Calculator ‍app, indicating a positive outlook for the future.

Where is cloud adoption at? An investigation by Nutanix

At what stage is the adoption of the cloud, also in Italy? Nutanix announces the results of the sixth edition of its global report which evaluates companies’ progress in cloud adoption. To conduct the research Vanson Bourne which surveyed 1,500 IT and DevOps/Platform Engineering decision makers worldwide in December 2023. The respondent base spans multiple industries, company sizes, and geographies, including North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa ( EMEA) and Asia-Pacific-Japan (APJ) region.

Nutanix: Italy late on hybrid multicloud

Based on data from Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Index in Italy 96% of interviewees (90% globally) declared that they had adopted a “smart cloud” approach for their infrastructure strategy, exploiting the most suitable environment for each of their applications. Additionally, 93% (83% globally) believe hybrid IT environments are more beneficial due to their ability to manage applications and data. However, despite the interest in distributed environments and the focus on hybrid IT implementation, Italy lags behind the world average in hybrid multicloud adoption.

Sustainability is a priority

The study also found that for Italian companies, rapid application development and better control were the main drivers of moving applications from one environment to another over the past year.
