This week, an 18-year-old young man was tried and sentenced by the Villefranche-sur-Saône criminal court. During the party, where he had consumed a lot of alcohol, he had fought with other people. And while the two gendarmes who supervised the event tried to intervene, he boxed them (7 and 3 days of ITT).
Furthermore, he fled the van before being caught by the police after falling into a ditch.
During the hearing, his lawyer explained that his client had not realized that he was attacking the gendarmes. In the heat of the moment, he thought he was being attacked by other participants at the ball and distributed uppercuts before stopping when he saw the uniforms. As for the shouts of the crowd who tried to order him to stop, he had heard nothing because he had removed his hearing aids.
The Calado judges handed down a suspended prison sentence of 10 months and a 40-day fine of 10 euros.
