A recent assessment by LK Upper Austria indicates that a considerable number of participants-specifically, 50.1%-involved in preventive groundwater protection initiatives in Upper Austria have not yet completed the mandatory ten hours of further training.

While the deadline for completing these requirements is set for december 31, 2026, many farms still need to take action to ensure compliance.

The same requirement applies to the creation of a one-time water protection concept and the collection of soil samples, according to the evaluation.

Urgent Call to action for Farmers

Upper Austrian agricultural businesses are urged to prioritize the completion of their outstanding training and the implementation of necessary water protection measures to meet the 2026 deadline.
