According to statements from the State Duma,the new application aims to facilitate secure communication for individuals,state,and municipal entities,while also integrating various government services.

Features and Functionality of the New Messenger

One particularly innovative feature under consideration is the ability to verify age for purchases or hotel check-ins without requiring physical identification. According to Sergej Bojarski, chairman of the information policy committee in Duma, the application could incorporate electronic signatures and virtual ID capabilities. Plans also include integrating digital educational resources.

The Russian government will determine which entity will oversee the progress of the messenger. Media reports suggest that VK, a social network with ties to the government and once founded by Telegram’s Pawel Durow, is a potential candidate to lead the project.
