The movie, which centers on a young boy who joins a demon-hunting organization after his sister transforms into a demon, grossed $70 million, according to Sony Group Corp. on Sunday. This surpasses the previous record of $31 million held by Pokémon: the First Movie-Mewtwo Strikes Back, set in 1999.

“That topped the previous $31 million record set by PokĂ©mon: the First Movie-Mewtwo Strikes Back in 1999.”
