A fired driver of a chalga singer was the mastermind of the robbery of a salvage car in Ihtiman, “24 Chasa” learned. He and his friend pulled out guns on Friday and stole 80,000 euros, but they were caught.
The attack happened around 3 p.m. Cashiers collected the money from the train station, then they would load ATMs. Then the two pulled out pistols and tied the guards with pig tails. They took two cassettes with money and ran to run on foot along the train tracks. However, one security guard broke free and reported to the police.
Criminal investigators immediately went on the hot trail. They soon noticed the fugitives running, but with empty hands. They were caught 5 km from the scene of the robbery. The bandits themselves showed the police where they threw the money and the entire amount was recovered.
The men were deliberately on foot, according to the investigation data. They had a hidden car waiting for them in a neighboring village, and the plan was for the men to run to it. Their goal was to prevent the police from following them in the car.
According to operational data, the fired driver planned the robbery. He had information about the route of the collection vehicle, he was also familiar with the approximate amount that he and his partner could earn.
The two detainees have no criminal records, said the head of the Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Sofia, Tihomir Tsenov. He described them as athletic men. They were not from Ikhtiman and nearby settlements. Their address registrations are in Sofia, Tsenov pointed out. They are accused of the robbery, and the prosecutor’s office will ask for their permanent arrest.
