X, the social media platform helmed by Elon Musk, experienced a temporary disruption on Saturday, leaving many users unable to access the site.

According to Downdetector, a platform that monitors website and app outages based on user reports, approximately 25,000 users reported problems with X. The peak of the outage occurred around 8:30 a.m. ET, with roughly 21,000 reports logged.

While the issues appeared to be largely resolved by 10 a.m. ET, some users continued to experience intermittent problems until around 11 a.m. ET.

This incident marks the second outage for X in less than a week, with a previous disruption occurring on Thursday.

Musk Responds, Promises Improvements

“Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms,”

in response to the outage, Elon Musk took to X to address the situation.”As evidenced by the uptime issues this week, major operational improvements need to be made,” Musk wrote.

He further explained,”The failover redundancy should have worked, but did not.”

Musk also stated he would be increasing his focus on his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX, as they have “critical technologies rolling out.”

Past Outages and Challenges

X has faced several outages since Elon Musk’s acquisition of the platform, formerly known as Twitter, in 2022.

In march, the platform experienced another outage, which Musk attributed to a “massive cyberattack.” At the time, Musk stated, “We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources.”
