We dont know who Hildegard was. The exhibition represents the extinct multicultural Czechoslovakia 2024-04-03 13:51:54

The middle class is on the rise, but the country is divided by burning social problems, national disputes and the clash between the left and the right about the next direction. The visual art of interwar Czechoslovakia contains the optimism of modern life and, for today’s viewer, a premonition of impending disaster.

The curators Anna and Ivo Habán confirm the first impression of the exhibition entitled New Realisms: Modern Realist Approaches on the Czechoslovak Art Scene 1918 to 1945, which can now be seen in the Prague Municipal Library.

“The modern realism of the 1920s was an effort to bring art closer to people with a quick shortcut, such as we know today from the news, for example. To go straight to the point without a long explanation and to be understandable even to the masses,” explains art historian Ivo Habán, one aspect of the works of authors whose native language was Czech , German, Slovak and Hungarian and the common denominator of the realistic tendency in creation.

You can listen to the New Realism exhibition podcast here:

“At the exhibition, one will see the modern life of the time, the clatter of typewriters and heels,

Credit cards, allies or enemies of Argentine families?

2024-03-28 03:01:00

For many years, credit cards were used to make very large purchases, for which it would take months or even a couple of years to save the money in advance. Not to mention that when you reach the amount, the product has already increased several times and the goal continues to move away. That’s why cards work as a way to finance something really important, like a trip, a large appliance, or materials for a home renovation, for example.

However, in recent months and due to the impact of the very high inflation, The credit card became, for many Argentine families, the only way to make ends meet.. Before it was used to change the washing machine; now, to be able to pay at the supermarket or fill the car with gas on the 25th, because there is no longer any balance left in the bank. And although this situation may be temporary, it is important to take into account some details so that this affects us as little as possible.

The first thing we have to understand is that the cards themselves are neither good nor bad. They are a means of payment and nothing more.

#Hype #culture #rampant #DGTL #Amsterdam #Sunday

That was it: the rave kick-off to the festival season. For three days, NDSM Docklands was the site of DGTL Amsterdam 2024. The weather turned out to be a major factor at the event and provided a soaking wet backdrop. The sold-out Sunday is therefore all about ‘being dry’ and – how could it be otherwise – DJ Daddy Trance, aka Marlon Hoffstadt.

But the heavy rainfall that the festival experiences from mid-afternoon is particularly detrimental to the festival. Staying dry becomes the priority of the day, but unfortunately a roof over your head is no guarantee of this: due to poor drainage of rainwater,
