The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has reported the cessation of marketing and withdrawal from the market of a batch of the cosmetic product Serum firmness, of the brand Nectar of bio – Les Cosmtiques Design Parisdue to microbiological contamination.
In an informative note, the AEMPS has specified that in batch 249999 of that product, “the presence of mesophilic aerobic bacteria, yeasts, molds and the bacteria ‘Burkholderia cepacia’”which may present risks to people with respiratory problems or a weakened immune system.
The AEMPS has explained that it has learned of the contamination through a European alert communicated by the rapid information exchange system of the European Union. According to this alert, the product has been distributed in Spain.
According to the agency’s note, the company Banned (Carrefour group) located in France and responsible for the product, has adopted as voluntary measures the cessation of marketing, the withdrawal from the market and the recovery of the units placed on the market from the aforementioned batch.
The AEMPS has informed the health authorities of the autonomous communities of these measures for their dissemination and timely actions.
