President Mario Pozza leads the delegation between Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. Objective: to reverse the export trend and launch the South-East Asia Forum in June.
Treviso – It is not just a question of kilometers, but of markets that await the excellence of Italian “know-how”. The institutional mission to Australia led by Mario Pozza, President of Assocamerestero, Venicepromex and the Treviso-Belluno|Dolomiti Chamber of Commerce, concluded successfully. A strategic journey that touched the main metropolises of the continent – Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra – with a clear objective: to reactivate the growth of commercial exchange and position Veneto companies at the center of the Asia-Pacific area.

Accompanied by Franco Conzato (CEO of Venicepromex) e Domenico Mauriello (General Secretary of Assocamerestero), Pozza met the leaders of Italian diplomacy in Australia, including Ambassador Nicola Lener and Consul General Chiara Mauri. At the center of the talks was the analysis of import-export flows in the provinces of Treviso and Belluno. Istat data highlights a need: to act synergistically to reverse the current situation and push exports back towards a phase of expansion.
“Australia is a stable, open market with a strong cultural affinity with Italy,” he declared Mario Pozza. “We are talking about companies that have extraordinary products and deserve worthy markets. Despite international uncertainties, our mission does not stop: we promote manufacturing, but also tourism in the Dolomites, the Venetian Villas and the UNESCO Hills.”
Towards the South-East Asia Forum in Treviso
The Australian mission was not an isolated event, but the prelude to a crucial event for the Veneto economy. Halfway gJune, Treviso will host the South-East Asia Forum, a high-level discussion table which will see the participation of the Secretaries General of the Italian Chambers of Commerce of Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and Hong Kong.
The format, presented during the Melbourne stage, aims to build structured relationships with one of the areas with the highest potential for global growth. The commitment continues in the next few days in Rome, where Pozza will meet the Australian Deputy Ambassador to make the networks created during the trip operational.
The key points of the mission:
-
Institutional Networking: Meetings with ambassadors, consuls and parliamentarians (Sen. Giacobbe and Hon. Carè).
-
Territorial Promotion: Focus not only on the industrial product, but on the entire “Veneto Brand” (Tourism and UNESCO Sites).
-
Market Diversification: Strategy to reduce dependence on traditional markets in crisis.
President Pozza concluded with a direct appeal to the local productive fabric: “I invite companies to seize this opportunity. The June Forum will be the moment to transform these diplomatic relations into concrete business opportunities.”
