Things happened so fast—bodies on the ground, people just trying to duck for cover,” Turral said.Among the four lives lost was a security guard working that night, who Turral said was also a close family friend.“We spoke the night before,” Turral said, pausing. “It’s close, real close to home.” As staff work to clean up the aftermath, Turral said it’s too soon to think about the future of the bar. His focus remains on the health and safety of his staff and guests.“We just got to come together and support each other at this time. I mean, it’s kind of what makes or breaks a community,” Turral said. “It’s something that is happening, and it’s horrible.”The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is still working to identify a person of interest in the shooting.
