– I’m actually very happy with life, but on Monday I didn’t want to live anymore, says Anniken Nordengen to Dagbladet.
She continues:
– It has been a real hell of pain and a nightmare.
Anniken became known to the Norwegian people when she took part in TV 2’s program series “Petter uteligger: En ny chanse”.
In recent days, she has shared openly about her hospitalization on her own Facebook page.
Last Sunday she was transported by ambulance to Kalnes Hospital in Østfold. The next day it was taken to Rikshospitalet, she says.
– It started with a sore throat for which I received antibiotics. Then it just said BANG.
– I had a rash on 90 percent of my body. Aching fluid-filled blisters which cracked, burned and itched. I’m in a nightmare, says Anniken.
Isolate
Before the doctors could rule out infectious diseases such as measles, she had to be isolated.
Anniken was there for two and a half days, she says.
– I went straight into depression. It is very demanding mentally. Being deprived of freedom. In addition, I smoke, so it kept clicking for me.

Last night, however, she was told that the blisters are probably the result of an allergic reaction.
– I still look like a color map, but now the skin has started to peel off. It has been extremely painful. It goes with liters of creams.
Paying tribute to the health personnel
Anniken is still waiting for a response to the biopsy – a tissue sample that might explain why the reaction occurred.

She is still at Rikshospitalet, and uses the opportunity to praise the health personnel who work there.
– They are so thoughtful, kind and knowledgeable. Simply a bouquet of flowers. They take such good care of me. You quickly become fond of them.
– It’s getting hot
Anniken, who is an Erlik Oslo salesperson, was very much looking forward to the run-up to Christmas. However, the announcement has put a small damper on the joy now.
– All year I have been looking forward to selling Erlik Oslo’s Christmas book. And when the time finally came, I got this bang.
Erlik Oslo is a street magazine that is sold by disadvantaged people.

– But next week I will try to get out into the streets again. And enjoy all that pre-Christmas has in terms of smells, decorations and joy.
She has received many wishes for a speedy recovery. Even from Pakistan, she says.
– When you find yourself in a situation like that, you see all the good people you have in your life. Everyone who sends messages and shows up. It’s very hot.
