Press release from 06.05.2025
Dr. med. Alois Franz and Prof. Dr. Frank Willeke were awarded the renowned focus and star seals. In doing so, they were again included in the list of top doctors in Germany in the areas of hip surgery, smelling surgery, tumors of the digestive tract and endocrine surgery. In addition, the St. Marien Hospital can look forward to admission to the list of World’s Best Hospitals.
Win. The methodology of the focus and star doctors list is based on a careful analysis that takes into account various factors. Colleagues recommendations play a crucial role because they reflect the professional reputation and trust in the skills of the doctors. In addition, a comprehensive self -disclosure of the doctors flows into the evaluation that provides information about their qualifications and experiences. Another important aspect of research is the publicly available data that offer an objective basis for assessing the treatment services. Not only the medical successes of the doctors are assessed, but also the scientific commitment, which is of great importance for continuous further development in medicine. In addition, the patient service is included in the assessment. High patient satisfaction and sensitive handling of the patients are crucial criteria that contribute to awarding the seals.
World’s Best Hospitals 2025
The St. Marien Hospital in Siegen was also the only hospital in the region to be included in the list of “World’s Best Hospitals 2025” and is one of the top 160 hospitals in Germany. According to the Global data platform Statista, the number of hospitals worldwide will probably reach 216,000 by 2026. With this number of facilities, it is often difficult for patients to make the right choice. In order to cope with this challenge, Newweek and Statista launched the “World’s Best Hospitals 2025”, which lists the best hospitals worldwide and sorted by countries.
The ranking includes the best hospitals in 30 countries, including Germany, Australia, the USA and many more. These countries were selected on the basis of several comparative factors such as living standard, life expectancy and data availability. The ranking is based on a comprehensive evaluation process that includes an online survey under thousands of medical experts, data about patient experiences, quality indicators and the implementation of patient-reported outcome measurements (Proms). These standardized questionnaires offer valuable insights into the perception of patients regarding their treatment. (PM)
