Former Indonesian national team coach, shin Tae Yong, has refuted claims that he was approached by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) to take over as coach of the Chinese national team.
Representatives for Shin Tae Yong (Sty), speaking to South Korean media outlet Chosun Biz, dismissed the reports.
“Contrary to the media report Indonesia, we have not received an offer or contract from the Chinese soccer association,” said Sty, as quoted by Chosun Biz.

The representative clarified that Shin Tae Yong is currently engaged in several other commitments.
“Coach Shin is currently involved in various activities, including the position of vice President in the Korean Football Association and the Role of general Manager in Seongnam FC,” the representative stated.
However, the representative indicated that Sty would consider an official offer from the Chinese national team if one were to be made.
“There needs to be an offer from the Chinese side so that the discussion can be done, but until now there has been no progress in that direction,” said Sty Representative.
Previously, Sty was mentioned as a potential candidate to replace Branko Ivankovic, who was recently dismissed from his position as coach of the Chinese national team.
Other potential candidates for the Chinese national team coaching position include Zheng Zhi, current coach of the China U-21 national team and former assistant coach of the Chinese national team, and Gao Hongbo, a former Chinese national team coach.
