Seo Eui-cheol, a 30-year-old artist, has been awarded the prestigious Presidential Award at the 52nd Korea Chunhyang Korean Traditional Music Fair, held in Namwon.This accolade, accompanied by a prize of ₩50 million, marks a notable milestone in his career and highlights the enduring appeal of Pansori, a traditional Korean narrative song.

Competing in the highly competitive Pansori Myeongchang Department, Seo Eui-cheol secured victory with a total score of 491 points. This win is especially noteworthy as it was Seo’s first appearance in the Myeongchang competition, adding to the impact of his achievement.
