Sardinia: the Todde council stops the 4 new hospitals in Solinas Health and Wellbeing
(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, APRIL 23 – Alessandra Todde’s regional council has definitively shelved the project of the four new hospitals in Cagliari, Sassari, Alghero and Sulcis, launched at the end of the legislature by Christian Solinas’s executive.
During the session which took place in the Regional Council building in Cagliari at the end of the Chamber’s work, the awaited resolution proposed by the Health Department led by Armando Bartolazzi was approved, which cancels the resolution adopted two days after the regional elections which took note of “the feasibility studies presented by the local health authorities for the construction of new hospital facilities”.

The Global Surge in Whooping Cough Cases
As whooping cough cases surge worldwide, health officials are sounding the alarm on the urgent need for vaccination and increased awareness. In January this year, there were an estimated 555 cases reported in the UK alone. This number rose to an alarming total of 913 cases in February compared to only approximately ~858 reported cases throughout all of last year.
Similarly, China experienced more than fifteen thousand cases this January—fifteen times higher compared to last year’s figures within similar timeframes. In addition, major concerns loom over Europe’s rising numbers—especially when considering that Netherlands saw around eighteen hundred recorded instances just during the first two weeks of April.

WADA said in a statement that it was informed in June 2021 by China’s anti-doping agency that athletes had unknowingly submitted samples contaminated with the drug, resulting in a positive test result.
