Russia War in Ukraine
On September 9, Russia launched more than 400 drones against Ukraine, of which 19 entered the Polish airspace. It was the first day in the history of NATO in which enemy devices were demolished in a member country.
How was military intervention?
- From 20.35, surveillance and helicopter planes were deployed on the border.
- At 21.45 the Lublin airport was closed and shortly after an Italian spy plane was added.
- At 23.00, Warsaw also closed its main airports, while the patriot radars detected the drones.
- At 23.30 there was the first foray into Poland, coinciding with the operation of a Dutch hunting resumed in flight.
How far did the drones arrive? The remains appeared in remote areas, even 450 kilometers from the border. The Polish army prioritized intercept only the devices with destructive potential, avoiding shooting in populated areas and letting minor goals pass.
Where did they enter? The Polish government confirmed that some drones came from Ukraine and others from Belarus, something unpublished.
- The Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, linked the fact with the military exercises that Russia and Belarus execute every four years and where he rehearses the response to an aggression of an NATO country.
