Boxing champion George Foreman, who became legendary thanks to his legendary fight against Mohamed Ali in 1974 in Kinshasa, died on March 21 at the age of 76.
Discovered at 18 in the film “Rosetta” by the Dardenne brothers, Belgian actress Émilie Dequenne died at 43 on March 16. The actress was struck down by a rare cancer at the end of a fierce battle that she had made public.
Val Kilmer, actor known for “Batman Forever” and “Top Gun,” died on April 1 at the age of 65.
Amadou Bagayoko, of the legendary duo Amadou and Mariam, died on April 4 in Bamako at the age of 70 after a long illness.
Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel Prize winner for literature and member of the French Academy, died on April 13 at the age of 89.
French rap star, Werenoi died suddenly at the age of 31 on May 17.
He was one of the most renowned photographers on the planet with his black and white photos of conflicts and the Amazon rainforest that went around the world. Humanist photographer and tireless traveler, Sebastião Salgado died at the age of 81 on May 23.
Jean Tiberi, mayor of Paris between 1995 and 2001 and former deputy of the capital, died on May 27 at the age of 90.
A great figure in the world of media, the writer and journalist Philippe Labro died on June 4 at the age of 88.
Beach Boys co-founder and pop music legend Brian Wilson died on June 11 at age 82, leaving behind an invaluable musical legacy.

Jamaican singer Jimmy Cliff, reggae legend, died at the age of 81 on November 24.
The Franco-Turkish actor Tchéky Karyo, who played in around 80 films including “The Bear” by Jean-Jacques Annaud and “Nikita” by Luc Besson, died on October 31 at the age of 72.
Famous for his photos humorously depicting the daily lives of his compatriots, British photographer Martin Parr died at the age of 73 on December 6.
