Google announced this Thursday the launch of “Nano Banana” in Spanish for Latin Americaan image editing tool integrated into Search through Google Lens and AI Mode.
This innovation allows users to transform their photos instantly using the company’s powerful image editing model, the technology company reported in a statement.
The new function is accessible to both consumers of Android as well as iOS. To start experimenting, you only need open the Google app, access Lens and press the newly incorporated Create Mode, Easily identified by the icon of a yellow banana.
Users can try instructions suggested such as “create me a picture in a photo booth” or, alternatively, take a new photo and describe with text the desired changes.
Additionally, the platform facilitates continuous editing through follow-ups and offers the option to quickly share results with friends and family.
One of the most versatile features of “Nano Banana” is its ability to Work with any image, not just selfies. The press release suggests that for those who prefer not to appear on camera, you can use the rear camera to photograph objects or select existing images from your gallery. This is ideal for practical and fun purposes, such as visualizing a Halloween costume for a pet without the need to physically try it on.
Taking image generation one step further, users now also have the ability to create completely new visual content from scratch right in the AI mode. They simply select the “Create Image” tool and enter a text instruction to generate the desired image. This functionality expands creative possibilities, going beyond simply editing existing photos.
Finally, Google encourages users to keep the conversation going with artificial intelligence. If the initial edit or creation inspires an idea, such as a piece of furniture with a particular style or a new outfit, AI Mode is ready to take the next step. Users can ask the system for more style ideas or even information on where to buy similar items, turning the tool into a visual and interactive shopping assistant.
