A public feud has erupted between US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur and former advisor, with both exchanging sharp criticisms after musk voiced concerns about Trump’s new legislative bill. The dispute escalated rapidly, encompassing policy disagreements and personal attacks.
The conflict began when Elon Musk publicly criticized President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” arguing that it would significantly increase the national debt. musk’s opposition stemmed, in part, from the bill’s provisions that would eliminate consumer incentives for purchasing electric vehicles.
President Trump responded to Musk’s criticism by expressing his disappointment. “I am vrey disappointed with elon. I have helped Elon a lot, he knows every aspect of this bill. He knows it is indeed better than almost everyone, and he never has a problem until after he left,” Trump stated. He also downplayed the significance of Musk’s financial support in the previous election, dismissing the notion that he needed Musk’s “hundreds of millions of dollars” to win.
Musk retorted on X, stating he did not care about electric car subsidies but was concerned about the national debt, which he views as a major threat. He further claimed that without his support, the Democratic Party would have won the last election. In response to Trump’s remarks, Musk posted, “Without me, trump will lose in the election, Democrats will control the DPR and the Republic will be in the position of 51-49 in the Senate.Really do not know thank you.”
“I am very disappointed with Elon. I have helped Elon a lot…and he never has a problem until after he left.”
The dispute took a personal turn when Musk alluded to President Trump’s potential involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, stating, “It’s time to drop a very large bomb. (Trump) is in Epstein’s file. That is the real reason the files are not published.” He also voiced support for Trump’s impeachment and replacement by Vice President JD Vance.
President Trump, in turn, claimed on social media that he had fired Musk from his advisory position
