Al-Marsad newspaper: A circulating video clip documented the moment a number of Africans performed “Samaritan” during a wedding ceremony on the island of Mayotte, part of the Comoros archipelago.
The video showed the Africans performing the Najdi Samaritan, but with the introduction of African rhythms to it, while the Samaritan movements they performed were similar to his Najdi counterpart.
It is noteworthy that the Najdi Samaritan moved to Oman and then spread to Africa with the expansion of the Al-Busaid Al-Masari Azdi Empire in Africa, and they perform some of the movements of the Samaritan of the Shammar tribe in terms of the way they sit while performing the Samaritan.
