Former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon voiced criticism of the ‘Special Committee for State Affairs Investigation (Special Committee on National Affairs) to find out the truth about the alleged manipulation of indictments by political prosecutors under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration’ promoted by the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, “It seems like a large-scale cancellation of indictments for President Lee Jae-myung is imminent.”
Former Prime Minister Lee, who is the first leader of the New Mirae Democratic Party and serves as a standing advisor, posted on his Facebook page on the 20th, titled ‘Is the indictment now cancelled?’, saying, “The ruling party has listed almost all cases related to President Lee as the subject of a government investigation,” and added, “The government investigation for that will begin soon.”
He went on to say, “Cancellation of the indictment is possible before the first trial ruling,” and “Because the trial has been delayed as much as possible, everyone except those who violated the election law and abetted perjury can be targeted.”
He used the expression ‘unprecedented destruction of justice’ and explained, “All presidential trials have been suspended. Police, prosecutors, judges, and even the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court can now be accused of distorting the law.” He also claimed, “With the increase in the number of Supreme Court justices, it has become easier for our own people to dominate the Supreme Court and make favorable decisions.”
Former Prime Minister Lee said, “Even if the Supreme Court finds him guilty, he can now go to the Constitutional Court and overturn it. If that’s not enough, now the indictment has been cancelled,” and pointed out, “It seems like the indictment cancellation is the final act of bulletproofing and the ultimate destruction of justice.”
He added, “They said that sins can be forgiven but cannot be undone.” He added, “What are the elders and active politicians who are silent like this thinking?”
