The fate of iran’s uranium reserves is under scrutiny, according to US Vice President Jay Di Vance, who spoke with ABC. Despite recent US strikes, the islamic Republic’s uranium stockpile remains intact, though its location may have changed.Secretary of State Marco Rubio had previously expressed doubts about the relocation of the uranium.

When asked if Iran’s enriched uranium reserves (sufficient for approximately 10 nuclear weapons) were destroyed, Vance stated, “We will work in the coming weeks to ensure that we will do something with this fuel, and this is one of the things we will talk to Iranians.”

The uranium was primarily stored in Isfahan, home to a conversion facility that prepares uranium for enrichment centrifuges.Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Israel possesses “captivating intelligence information” regarding the uranium’s whereabouts but declined to elaborate, adding that Israel “follows closely”.

Vance stated that Iran’s capacity to weaponize its uranium stockpile has been diminished. “And that was really the goal here.”

“Enriched uranium reserves were removed from nuclear centers and there were no material left there, which,if someone aimed at them, could cause harm to our countrymen,” Reuters quoted the head of the state-owned radio and television company Hasan Abedini on the air.

Assessing the situation at the Fordou facility, which was a primary target for US intervention, remains challenging.

  • The impact of US blows on fordou may be notable, but without inspectors there, no one can say what the scale of the damage is, said the head of the International Atomic Energy agency (IAEE) Rafael Grossi on sunday. If it is clearer for the Nananz and Isfahan sites that they have suffered significant damage, then Fordow is more difficult to create a clear idea, he told CNN.
  • The Israeli source of the New York Times considers on the basis of initial information that the site is seriously damaged but not destroyed.
