Indonesia: Prayer Rug on Hot Coals – Al-Marsad Video

Al-Marsad newspaper: A video clip documented the moment when a religious group in Indonesia spread a prayer rug over a burning fire and performed prayers on it.

The video showed a member of the group advancing to pray on the carpet that had been spread over the coals, where he performed two rak’ahs and left while the group members gathered around him.

According to their beliefs, the scene is an embodiment of “Hell,” as part of training aimed at reminding participants of the afterlife and teaching them to pray in preparation for it.
