Gyeonggi-do Showcases Climate Technology on the World Stage
In a bid to champion innovative solutions for a enduring future, Gyeonggi-do recently hosted the 2025 Gyeonggi-do Climate Tech Exhibition. The event served as a platform for domestic climate technology companies to present their advancements to a global audience, fostering opportunities for international expansion and collaboration.
A Global Gathering of Climate Leaders and Innovators
This inaugural climate tech-focused event, organized by Gyeonggi-do, coincided with the World Local Government Climate General Assembly. The synergy attracted over 4,200 participants, including representatives from governments, international organizations, and climate tech firms hailing from 82 cities across 29 countries, including major players like the United States, Australia, and India. This diverse attendance underscores the growing global commitment to addressing climate change through technological innovation.
The global green technology and sustainability market is projected to reach $51.07 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach $114.71 billion by 2029.

The Global Curation Tour provided a unique chance for 50 key delegates from the World Local Government Climate General Meeting to explore the exhibition and assess the technologies of 32 select domestic companies, leading to valuable buisness consultations. Moreover, the Global Star Venture Challenge recognized five outstanding companies for their innovative contributions:

A dedicated Climate Tech Seminar facilitated discussions on critical policies and investment strategies,including environmental,social,and governance (ESG) trends,public finance and climate tech investment cooperation,and global carbon regulations. These discussions are crucial for shaping the future of climate tech investment and ensuring alignment with global sustainability goals.
Boosting Competitiveness and Market Entry
The event also included a formal designation ceremony for 33 climate tech startups and 10 promising climate tech companies identified by Gyeonggi-do.This recognition aims to bolster their technical competitiveness and encourage market entry, contributing to a vibrant and innovative climate tech landscape.
Looking Ahead: A Climate Tech Conference in September
Cha Sung-soo, director of the Climate Surroundings Energy, emphasized the exhibition’s role in propelling climate tech companies onto the global stage. Building on this momentum, Gyeonggi-do plans to host a climate tech conference in September, focusing on global investment, technology advancements, and policy directions.
