The momentary emotion now leaves deep regret for S (45), a resident of Tlogosadang Village, Paciran District, Lamongan. S was officially named a suspect in the case of stabbing two young men during a dawn patrol in Panceng District, Gresik Regency.
Not only that, his house in Lamongan was burned by the mob following the brawl before dawn.
S expressed his regret while undergoing an examination at the Gresik Police Headquarters. He admitted that his actions were triggered by momentary emotions.
“I am truly sorry for what happened. If it could be repeated, I would not have committed that act,” said S before investigators, Sunday (1/3/2026).

Not only did he regret his actions against the victim, S also admitted that he was devastated by the impact his family had to endure. He said that the mob’s rampage which resulted in the burning of the house was a psychological burden for him.
“I haven’t thought about the consequences so far. What I regret most is that my family also felt the impact,” he said in a low voice.
This regret deepened after he learned that his house in Paciran, Lamongan, had been burned down by a mob following a stabbing incident. S admitted that he never imagined that the conflict would end in the destruction of his residence. Now he can only resign himself to celebrating Eid behind bars.
“I didn’t think the consequences would be like this. My house was burned, and now I have to answer for my actions in prison,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police ensure that the legal process against the perpetrators continues. Currently S has been detained.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Gresik Police, AKP Arya Widjaya, explained that the perpetrator was arrested less than 24 hours after the incident. The police received information about S’s whereabouts in Paciran District, Lamongan, at around 23.40 WIB, Friday (27/2).
“Saturday (28/2) early morning we secured him and immediately took him to the Gresik Police,” he explained.
Police are still investigating the motive for the stabbing. Until now, investigators have not revealed in detail the background of the perpetrator who committed the violent act.
“We are still investigating further. We will report on the progress later,” concluded Arya.
Previously, the stabbing incident occurred during a dawn patrol activity carried out by youths in Panceng District, Gresik, Friday (27/2) at around 00.30 WIB. A brawl broke out in Campurejo Village, precisely in front of a billiards hall and cafe. The riot involved youth groups from Campurejo Village and Banyutengah Village.
The commotion started when the two groups passed each other and threw water bombs at each other, then escalated after an argument broke out. Even though they had disbanded, the Banyutengah Village youth group returned to Campurejo until a brawl broke out.
In the midst of the chaos, the perpetrator allegedly took out a sharp weapon and slashed two young men from Campurejo Village, each Moh. Ruhul Madani (25) and Wahyu Agung Pratama (24). As a result, the two victims suffered stab wounds and were immediately rushed to Ibnu Sina Regional Hospital.
