A smear campaign against Electrolit ended up becoming a scandal, after several “medical influencers” deleted their posts after being flagged by content creator Mr. Doctor, who revealed evidence showing that it was all part of a paid strategy.
According to what was reported by the influencer, the payments offered to doctors varied between 700 and 48,000 pesos, depending on the scope of each account. Following the revelation, the credibility of many of those involved was severely affected.

Mr. Doctor assured that even the journalist Adela Micha would have been part of this alleged campaign. When they saw evidence, several of those accused decided to delete their videos to avoid further criticism and disassociate themselves from the scandal.

According to Dr. Octavio Arroyo “Mr. Doctor”, the conflict began a few days after the federal government announced its intention to apply a new tax on rehydration drinks, including Electrolit, with the aim of increasing revenue. “Coincidentally”, videos began to circulate on social networks where doctors and influencers questioned the quality of the product.
According to Mr. Doctor, these videos were part of an organized smear campaign, of which he presented screenshots and messages as evidence. In his video, he explained that he was also contacted to participate, with an offer of 48,000 pesos for creating negative content about the drink.
