Borussia Düsseldorf will be active with its “Table Tennis Break King” project for the 15th time in the 2025/26 school year. The official starting shot will be given on Tuesday, October 28th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Knittkuhl Community Elementary School. Borussia’s Bundesliga professionals Li Yongyin and Borgar Haug will be there, with a little show match encouraging the children to pick up their own rackets.
As usual, the popular sports event will be held in circular mode and is aimed at students in the 4th and 5th grades. Around 2,500 children from 30 schools first play for the class winners before they play in the grand final in the spring as part of a Bundesliga home game for the professionals (ARAG CenterCourt).
The Pausenkönig is a campaign by the record champions in cooperation with the sports city of Düsseldorf, selected partner schools, Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG, AOK Rheinland, Möbel Schaffrath, ARAG, Rheinmetall and the table tennis supplier Tamasu Butterfly Europa GmbH to get kids excited about the sport of table tennis. Representatives of sponsors, politicians and organizer Borussia Düsseldorf will be present at the kick-off of the 2025/26 break king.
