Tips for choosing a durable audio system
Table of Contents
1. Favor separate elements
Opt for independent speakersand amplifier dedicated and a digital source distinct. If one of the components is defective, you will only have to replace it.
In practice, your speakers will last at least 20 years, the amplifier 12 to 15 years, and the digital source around 10 years.
2. Always make sure you have a wired connection
An entry TO or HDMI guarantees that your device will always be able to operate independently.
3. Bluetooth as a backup solution
Bluetooth is widely used and relatively stable over time. Be careful though: it does not offer an absolute guarantee either.

The more a device relies on a application and proprietary serversthe more risk of loss of functionality over time is high.
Check whether the system uses open standards or relies on a closed, brand-specific platform. When a product is closely related to a specific application or service, you become depending on the strategic choices of the manufacturer – an aspect on which manufacturers rarely communicate clearly.
Please note: there is currently no official label or certification guaranteeing a minimum duration of software support for audio systems.
