Here’s an amusing California story: Gov. Gavin Newsom is sprinting to the left so fast as he prepares for a 2028 presidential bid that he’s outflanking his Democratic Legislature and the liberals trying to save San Francisco.
Mayor Daniel Lurie and Assemblyman from the city Matt Haney teamed up on legislation to let local governments spend up to 10% of homeless funding from the state on “recovery-focused” housing. These are housing projects intended to help people with histories of substance abuse stay clean.
