Just minutes before kickoff at Kinnick Stadium for the 2025 season opener against Albany, an Iowa offensive lineman went down with an injury.
According to Owen Siebring, a sports anchor in Cedar Rapids, Bryce George went down during pregame warmups with an injury and was taken to the locker room. Siebring speculated it was an arm injury of some kind.
George, a 6-foot-5, 312-pound senior tackle, transferred to the program this offseason from Ferris State and was listed as the third-string left tackle on the depth chart. Hopefully, the injury is nothing serious for George, and we’ll see him back on the field with the Hawkeyes soon. Kirk Ferentz should have an update on that injury following tonight’s game.
