CCSD PEACH Tax Credit: Expanded Access for Students

by drbyos

The Clarke County School District has expanded its participation in the PEACH Education Tax Credit program, according to a CCSD press release.

The program runs through the Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE) and offers individuals and businesses the opportunity to redirect a portion of their state income tax liability to support K-12 public education projects and initiatives.

Applications are now open for individual taxpayers and businesses to donate toward eligible public education programs and projects of their choice and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit from the state.

The PEACH Education Tax Credit has a limit of $15 million and is approved on a first-come, first-serve basis by the Georgia Department of Revenue. The GFPE uses predetermined guidelines to allow public school systems to raise funds and support up to three priority projects with a focus on innovation.

CCSD has added two initiatives to the program for funding:

  • Full outfitting of a dental clinic at the Clarke Middle Health Center (CMHC)

  • Special projects for the district’s “Culture of Literacy” campaign that focuses on improving literacy rates, particularly in early childhood and elementary grade levels

CCSD previously established a funding opportunity through the PEACH Education Tax Credit to raise money for programming at the Athens Community Career Academy. The program is an extension of the district’s career, technical and agricultural program which allows high school students to take courses in high school and college-level career pathways and provides them with opportunities to earn professional certification and full-time employment.

To participate in the PEACH Education Tax Credit Program:
