After a period of relative silence, Ye, also known as Kanye West, made a surprising announcement on X.On Thursday (May 22), he tweeted, “I am done with antisemitism.”

In a subsequent post,he wrote,”I love all people. God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused…I forgive those who have caused me pain…Thank you god…I simply got a FaceTime from my kids and I wanna save the world again…the earth itself is in Gods Kingdom…GOD CALLS FOR PEACE…Share peace…Share love.”

Background: Ye’s History of Anti-semitic Remarks

The catalyst for Ye’s apparent change of heart remains unclear. His recent declaration follows years of spreading anti-Semitic sentiments. His public descent into anti-Semitism began in 2022 with numerous anti-Semitic rants in online forums and interviews. Notably, he voiced approval of Hitler and the Nazis during an interview with Alex Jones. These actions led to him being named Anti-semite of the Year by the watchdog organization Stop Antisemitism.

In December 2023,Ye issued an apology to the Jewish community, which many perceived as insincere. Earlier this year, he reignited controversy by continuing to target Jewish people, sporting a swastika chain, and wearing a shirt with a swastika.
