The Loons’ goalkeeper, dayne St. Clair, was called into action early, making a save from Austin FC’s brandon vasequez in the 4th minute.
Minnesota United’s first chance came in the 6th minute when Carlos Harvey found Robin Lod, whose shot was saved by Stuver.
Boxall’s Header Opens the Scoring
Boxall headed the ball to the left post and put it in the network.
In the 16th minute, Michael Boxall put the Loons ahead. Following a corner kick from Joaquín Pereyra that was redirected by Nicolás Romero, Boxall headed the ball into the net.
Kolmanic Equalizes for Austin
Austin responded in the 27th minute with a goal from Zan Kolmanic. Osman Buari initiated the attack, finding Myrto Uzuni, who then passed to Kolmanic for the finish.
Before halftime, Austin’s Uzuni had a chance, chesting the ball down and shooting a volley that went wide in the 43rd minute.
Second Half Chances
In the 64th minute, Pereyra attempted a volley after a run by Neozyre Boxall, but Austin’s captain, Brendan Hines-Uke, blocked the shot.
Minnesota’s Yeboah initiated a counterattack in the 75th minute, passing to Tani Oluwaseyi, who then found Bongakuhle Hlongwane.Hlongwane’s shot went just over the crossbar.
Yeboah had another chance in the 82nd minute, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Brad stew.
