Ukraine War: Trump Plan Rejected, Zelensky Faces Pressure – News Update

by Archynetys World Desk

The European Union supports all peace plans that lead to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said on Friday in Brussels.

Kallas emphasized in his speech opening the EU-Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum: Volodomir Zelenszkij regarding the peace proposal presented to the Ukrainian president, the EU’s position remains unchanged, according to

any peace plan can only work if Ukraine and the Europeans are part of it.

The High Representative recalled that Russia’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine has been going on for four years now, and according to him, there is still no sign that Moscow wants peace.

If Russia really wanted peace, it would have accepted the unconditional ceasefire that has been on the table since March

he said. He added that two days ago another 26 Ukrainian civilians lost their lives in Russian attacks.

Kallas pointed out: the effects of the war were not limited to Europe.

The conflict is also connected to the Indo-Pacific region, partly because troops, weapons and ammunition flow from North Korea to Russia, while China – although it proclaims neutrality – fuels Moscow’s war with its dual-use exports. He added: Beijing and Russia are working together to create a new global economic and security order that affects all countries.

According to Kallas, the current geopolitical situation calls everyone to action, so the EU and its partners must cooperate more closely. As he said, whether it is about security, sustainable growth, connectivity, climate protection or the protection of international law, Europe can only be stronger together.

Finally, the chief representative emphasized: the partnership can only be successful if strong cooperation is realized at all levels – citizens, companies, development banks, states and regions.
