Since the war in the Gaza Strip began, the football community has supported the exclusion of Israel from all competitions. UEFA considered this possibility, but discussions on this topic ended after the ceasefire negotiated jointly with the USA came into force on October 10.
Despite this, the number of victims continued to rise. However, the situation is much calmer than a few months ago. However, this does not change the fact that there are still parties that believe that Israel should be excluded from any participation in football competitions.

“Members of the Irish Football Association voted by an overwhelming majority on Saturday for the board to ask UEFA to immediately suspend the Israel Football Association from European competitions.” – announced the Football Federation of Ireland (FAI).
“The resolution adopted by FAI members pointed to alleged violations by the Israel Football Association of two provisions of the UEFA statute: the failure to implement and enforce an effective anti-racism policy and the playing of matches by Israeli clubs in the occupied Palestinian territories without the consent of the Palestinian Football Association,” added on reuters.com.
The resolution proposed by one of Ireland’s leading clubs, Bohemian FC, was supported by 74 votes. Seven representatives were against and two abstained.
Let us add that the heads of the Turkish and Norwegian federations had already decided to take a similar step (demanding the exclusion of Israel).
