Two Portuguese tourists died following an accident between two buses in Namibia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to CNN Portugal the death of the two tourists, both from the north of the country, adding that another 20 Portuguese people were on the bus.

There were also several people injured following the accident, some of them of other nationalities.

The accident involved two buses, which were carrying a total of 40 tourists, with at least 22 Portuguese tourists in one of the vehicles, according to the counselor for Portuguese communities in the capital Windhoek.

Manuel Coelho indicated that the accident occurred between 15:00 and 16:00 local time, minus one hour in Lisbon, in the Kuiseb Valley, on the way to the largest sand dunes of Sossus Vley, in the Namib Desert, about 400 kilometers from the capital.
