Former President Donald Trump has publicly criticized Zohran mamdani, labeling him a “crazy communist” after Mamdani’s successful Democratic primary election in New York City.

In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump expressed his disapproval of Mamdani’s victory, stating that the 33-year-old politician is too radical. He also commented negatively on Mamdani’s appearance and speaking style.

“Zohran mamdani, a 100 percent crazy communist, who has just won the Democratic Primary election and on his way to become a mayor,” Trump wrote.

He added, “we already have a radical left -wing politician before, but this one has gone too far. His appearance is very bad, his voice hurts, and not too smart.”

Mamdani secured a decisive win in the Democratic primary, defeating former New York City Governor Andrew Cuomo. According to preliminary results, Mamdani received 43.5 percent of the vote, while Cuomo garnered 36.4 percent.

Mamdani has served as a member of the New york State Assembly, representing the astoria region of Queens, since 2021.

If elected on November 4, Mamdani would be the first Muslim mayor of New york City with Indian heritage.

His platform includes proposals such as making all city buses free by 2027, freezing rent for rent-stabilized apartments, and establishing a social housing growth agency.

Mamdani has also been a vocal critic of Israeli policies in Palestine, describing Israel as a “zionist country of genocide” and stating he would arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visited New York.
